England vs Czechia Prediction: Team News, Odds and Betting Tips

England vs Czechia prediction in short: England host Czechia at Wembley on Tuesday 6 October 2026, with kick-off at 9:45pm EAT. Thomas Tuchel’s side arrive on the back of a 7-0 thrashing of Croatia, while Czechia have lost all three of their Nations League games. We expect a comfortable England win.

The Three Lions have recovered well from their opening 3-2 home defeat to Spain. Wins over Czechia and Croatia have lifted them to second in League A Group 3, and a third straight victory would keep the pressure on the group leaders as both sides chase the quarter-finals.

England vs Czechia Team News

England

Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly has left the camp with an injury and returned to his club for further assessment. Tuchel first said he would not replace him, but has since changed course and called up Rico Lewis as cover at full-back. Lewis has five senior caps and has recently been playing for England’s Under-21 side.

Ezri Konsa is reported to be a fitness doubt, so Tuchel could make changes in defence. Further forward, there should be little reason to change a front line that scored seven in Rijeka. Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both scored twice on Saturday, and Anthony Gordon has been in good form, having opened the scoring in the first meeting with Czechia in Prague.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who set up Gordon’s goal in Prague, is likely to keep his place at right-back.

Czechia

Czechia have struggled for goals and for discipline in this campaign. They played most of the first meeting with England with ten men after Pavel Sulc was sent off midway through the first half. Defender Ladislav Krejci is reported to be suspended after being sent off against Spain on Saturday, which would be a big loss to a defence that has already conceded seven goals in three games.

Form Guide and Head to Head

England’s week began badly with the 3-2 defeat to Spain at Wembley, a game remembered for Kane’s missed penalty. You can look back on that in England 2-3 Spain: Gordon and Keane clash over quality gap.

Since then they have been much sharper. They broke down a stubborn ten-man Czechia side 2-0 in Prague, with Gordon heading in the opener early in the second half and Kane adding the second. Then came Saturday’s remarkable 7-0 win in Croatia, covered in our report Croatia 0-7 England: Kane and Saka doubles seal Rijeka rout.

Czechia’s campaign has gone the other way. They lost 2-1 at home to Croatia, 2-0 at home to England and 3-1 away to Spain. They have scored just twice in three games. Our preview of their Spain game is here: Spain vs Czechia prediction.

What Is at Stake

Spain lead the group with a perfect 9 points and travel to Croatia on the same night. An England win would keep them three points behind the leaders and six clear of Croatia in third if Spain also win, making a top-two finish and a quarter-final place very likely. For Czechia, a fourth defeat would leave them pointless and in serious danger of relegation to League B.

England vs Czechia Prediction and Betting Tips

England are at home, in form, and facing an opponent that has lost every game in the group and is missing a key defender. They already beat Czechia comfortably in Prague, and that was against a side that sat deep and made it hard for them. At Wembley, with confidence high after the 7-0 in Croatia, England should create plenty of chances.

The main risk is complacency, and the fact that Czechia defended well for long spells in the first meeting. A repeat of seven goals is unlikely, but England should still win by more than one.

Our prediction: England 3-0 Czechia.

  • Main pick: England to win
  • Alternative: England to win and over 2.5 goals
  • Value angle: Harry Kane to score anytime
